NON-PLANAR TOOLPATH FOR LARGE SCALE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
نویسندگان
چکیده
The parts produced by additive manufacturing are inherently subjected to discretization effects due their layer-based addition. stair-stepping effect on the surface quality is inevitable for most of techniques and it becomes more dominant regions having small inclinations. influences mechanical properties as well aesthetic perception. Many researchers have been presented several approaches overcome or minimize improve additively manufactured parts. attempts made generally FDM-printed objects, however, there no fewer efforts large-scale (LSAM). Due higher deposition rates (up 50 kg/hrs.) larger nozzle diameters (i.e. bead size) in manufacturing. In this paper, methods mitigate improving reviewed practicing 3D printing discussed. A preliminary experimental study with a non-planar toolpath was carried out results were presented.

Water-based Engineering & Fabrication: Large-Scale Additive Manufacturing of Biomaterials
In nature, water assembles basic molecules into complex multi-functional structures with nano-to-macro property variation. Such processes generally consume low amounts of energy, produce little to no waste, and take advantage of ambient conditions. In contrast digital manufacturing platforms are generally characterized as uni-functional, wasteful, fuel-based and often toxic. In this paper we ex...

S.H. Choi and W.K. Zhu Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Abstract Reviewed, accepted September 10, 2008 This paper proposes an algorithm for planning efficient concurrent toolpaths to reduce the build-time of fabricating multi-material prototypes by layered manufacturing. The algorithm first sorts and partitions slice contours...
متن کاملToolpath generation for layer manufacturing of fractal objects
Purpose – Fractal geometry can be used to model natural objects which cannot be easily represented by the euclidean geometry. However, contemporary computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems cannot be used to model a fractal object efficiently. In a general layer manufacturing (LM) workflow, a model described by the euclidean geometry is required in order to gene...
متن کاملPractical Large Scale Classification with Additive Kernels
For classification problems with millions of training examples or dimensions, accuracy, training and testing speed and memory usage are the main concerns. Recent advances have allowed linear SVM to tackle problems with moderate time and space cost, but for many tasks in computer vision, additive kernels would have higher accuracies. In this paper, we propose the PmSVM-LUT algorithm that employs...
متن کاملImplicit modeling for additive manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology distinguishes itself from more traditional fabrication processes by several significant factors. It allows the creation of objects with complex geometry that would not be possible by subtractive manufacturing or molding. Additionally, 3d printers are of much simpler use than other tools. Finally, since the cost per objects does not change depending on the ...
